The Opportunity:
Our client is an international Maritime and Defense Technology company with facilities across the globe. They deliver technology solutions across all marine sectors including Merchant, Offshore, Subsea, Navel and Defense.
We are seeking a Mechanical Technician or Engineer to work at our client’s workshop based in Henderson; however, you will also work directly on the vessels at the Naval drydock also in Henderson.
Ideally you will be a Service Technician in the Marine or Defense Industry primarily involved with repair, overhaul and maintenance of Naval Vessels. Install equipment including propellers & shaft lines, stabilisers & steering gear and other mechanical maintenance.
You must be an Australia Citizen or Permanent Resident to be considered for this position given the nature of the work, unfortunately we are not offering sponsorship for this role.
The Requirements:
- Trade qualification as Mechanical Engineer/Fitter, Diesel Fitter, Marine Engineer
- Perform tasks both on-site at the Naval Henderson Drydock and in the local workshop close to the site
- Conduct fitting, repair, and maintenance work aboard naval vessels, focusing on propellers, shaftlines, stabilisers, and steering gear systems
- Excellent engineering and technical knowledge to support customers technical enquiries and interaction with our client’s technical staff
- Effective organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks appropriately, self-manage the workload
- Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the operations, you will be responsible for working on Navy Vessels and yards
- Ability to communicate effectively across multi-disciplinary teams and with clients both face to face and remotely
- Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident for this position as there is Navel Defense work involved
What’s on Offer
- Base Salary $100k – $120k + Super (13%) + OT (OTE up to $140k per annum)
- Perth based role working at the Henderson Drydock and Henderson workshop
- Only 35hrs per week, anything else is classed and paid as OT
- A paid RDO day per month to be taken when you like (12 extra days off), this is over and above your standard AL & PL entitlements
