The Opportunity:
Our client is an Australian owned family run business that operates across Mining Civils, Main Road Civils and Infrastructure projects across the Pilbara.
We are seeking a Cost Engineer who is looking for their next Perth based opportunity. The position requires knowledge and experience across cost control, project controls, commercial, and civil/bulk earthworks construction activities. You must be either and Australia Citizen, or Permanent Resident of Australia to be considered for this position, we are not offering sponsorship!
The Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, or Quantity Surveying
- Have a background within Bulk Earthworks or QS within civil construction projects such as roads, bridges, underpasses and drainage projects
- Conduct cost variance analyses to identify and explain discrepancies between actual and budgeted costs, and keep key management up to date
- Performs routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities, as directed and support the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports
- Help review, prepare and formalise budget reports, cost reports, forecasting project spends.
- Take early action to ensure project costs and timelines remain as per schedule
- A pro-active, can-do attitude and the ability to hit the ground running is essential for this role
- Be able to communicate at senior levels, budget, plan and keep senior management across project issues, delays or other liabilities
